Principal’s Comment 3 August 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

August already and some wintry weather the likes of which I left Scotland to avoid! Nonetheless it has not detracted from the many good things that can be recognised in our community.

Canberra Camp

One of these ‘good things’ were the experiences gained on the Canberra camp, which were documented on SEQTA in the daily ‘blog’. Both Ms Gregory and Mr Clayton (to whom thanks are due for running the trip) waxed lyrical about the responsible and engaged behaviour of the Year 9 students, who enjoyed a richly varied programme. It was good, too, that those Year 9s who did not attend made good use of their time here on their Big Picture projects.

Big Picture

Speaking of which I have heard that our Year 12 BP students, who have been working on the Graduation Portfolio, have achieved remarkable progress sufficient to warrant recommendation for a place at Murdoch University. This is a remarkable state-of-affairs and shows the versatility and usefulness of the programme.

The School Ball

Another success was the School Ball. This was a really enjoyable night enjoyed by all who attended. My colleagues and I appreciated being part of the celebrations and seeing how responsible the students were in their delectation. They played such a huge part in the organisation, ably inspired by Ms Cheryl Bottrell, and it was good that the event was so successful. I am sure there will be many happy memories, many of them recorded for posterity in the photo booth.

The School Photograph

A reminder that the School photograph, and photos of selected groups, will take place on Friday 10th August. Students will be required to attend (as they should anyway!) in full winter uniform, including tights for girls, smartly turned-out. Online order forms should have been completed but if you need any assistance or clarification please just call Reception; likewise, if you wish sibling photographs to be taken.

Parent Survey

A reminder, too, that the parent survey is due for completion today, Friday 3rd August. Although I sent a letter with full details the link to access the survey is as follows:
