Principal’s Comment 15th June 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

A week of sunshine and showers has not stopped our activity.

Cross Country

There was a lot of this around the site when we held the inter-House Cross Country Competition. We made the move on-site because of indifferent weather but the course proved to be a challenging and interesting one.

Principal’s Comment 8th June 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

I wrote last week of my hopes for a successful Founders’ Day and, happily, such it proved to be.

The sun shone and our guests from Perth (who flew here on two chartered aircraft) saw the town and the School at its very best.

Principal’s Comment 1st June 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

I returned from ASC meetings in Victoria and New South Wales (which included visits to three schools there) buoyed-up by what I saw because it confirmed that what we do here matches the quality of bigger and longer-established schools.

Principal’s Comment 18th May 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that the lack of a ‘Comment’ from me last week did not cause withdrawal symptoms; I was away on the annual ASC Retreat for senior staff, which Mr Iain Clark also attended.

ASC Retreat

This was an interesting and uplifting occasion, not least because it led to those attending identifying what makes an Anglican School distinctive.

Principal’s Comment – 6th April 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

I trust that you had an enjoyable Easter and that the long weekend provided a good opportunity for some time together. It certainly allowed us a pause for breath before the busy final two weeks.

Our swimmers participated in the Great Southern Schools Swimming Carnival at Mount Barker and came away with several medals and a third place overall.

Principal’s Comment – 30th March 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

We approach the long weekend having had another enjoyable and productive week, with a Chapel address by our erstwhile Chaplain, Revd. Sally Buckley, setting the scene for the celebration of Easter.

We have had cause to celebrate on the sporting front as embryonic teams in tennis and beach volleyball travelled to Perth to take part in competitions there.

Comment from the Principal – 8th December 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

The sometimes bewildering rush that is the end of the year is over, and we can all relax and take stock. Awards Night was certainly a wonderful way of starting this process, with the evening leaving me feeling very proud of our School and its people.

Comment from the Principal – 13th October 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

We finish Week 1 of the so-called summer term with, at last, some indication that weather appropriate to the season is upon us. Let us hope that it lasts!

Year 12

I am sure that the Year 12 students sitting mock examinations would prefer that the good weather might have waited but the long summer will soon be upon them.
