Principal’s Comment 12th October 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

The first week of the summer term has passed with remarkable speed, helped, perhaps, by the relaxed atmosphere engendered by the good weather we have enjoyed. Maybe summer is not far off?

Summer Uniform

Speaking of the seasons, students are expected to now wear summer uniform but, as is customary, there will be the usual three-week transition period when either summer or winter uniform may be worn.

Principal’s Comment 31st August 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

Another week appears to have disappeared leading to the realisation that there are but three weeks left before the end of the term. Perhaps the level of activity helps to explain the rapid passage of time.

Call to Duty and ADF Visit

The first bit of good news is that the registration inspector, with whom my colleagues and I spoke at the end of last week, were more than satisfied with the documentation that we provided and the conversations we had to support this.

Principal’s Comment 24th August 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

The week ends with two very positive pieces of information about our School, which I must share with you.

Registration

The first bit of good news is that the registration inspector, with whom my colleagues and I spoke at the end of last week, were more than satisfied with the documentation that we provided and the conversations we had to support this.

Principal’s Comment 20th August 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

The last few days have certainly been something of a roller coaster of emotions and experiences, not least because several of us attended the funeral service, on Friday, of the Reverend Doug Murray. We also had involvement in the Music Festival, WA Surfing Championships, Science Week and registration preparation.

Principal’s Comment 10th August 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

A week of wet and windy weather has certainly created a frisson of energy and activity in the week just past.

The School Photograph

The weather certainly contributed to the variety inherent in a photo day, with an attempt at a whole-school photo outside abandoned as the wind and hail overcame even the most stalwart souls.

Principal’s Comment 3 August 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

August already and some wintry weather the likes of which I left Scotland to avoid! Nonetheless it has not detracted from the many good things that can be recognised in our community.

Canberra Camp

One of these ‘good things’ were the experiences gained on the Canberra camp, which were documented on SEQTA in the daily ‘blog’. Both Ms Gregory and Mr Clayton (to whom thanks are due for running the trip) waxed lyrical about the responsible and engaged behaviour of the Year 9 students, who enjoyed a richly varied programme.

Principal’s Comment 13th July 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

I very much hope that you were all, in some measure, able to enjoy the school holidays and that your offspring are now somewhat restored after a very busy conclusion to a short term.

‘The Next Big Thing’

Of course, one of the great outcomes of this busyness was the School production: I am sure that all of us who saw the production of ‘The Next Big Thing’ would agree that it was a real triumph of writing, production and performance.

Principal’s Comment 15th June 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

A week of sunshine and showers has not stopped our activity.

Cross Country

There was a lot of this around the site when we held the inter-House Cross Country Competition. We made the move on-site because of indifferent weather but the course proved to be a challenging and interesting one.

Principal’s Comment 8th June 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

I wrote last week of my hopes for a successful Founders’ Day and, happily, such it proved to be.

The sun shone and our guests from Perth (who flew here on two chartered aircraft) saw the town and the School at its very best.
