Health and Physical Education
EACS incorporates a range of sporting activities in and out of school where we use the school and community facilities. Sports include: Netball, Basketball, Cricket, Softball, Badminton, Hockey, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, AFL, La Crosse, and ultimate Frisbee, as well as modified games. Students are encouraged to develop and demonstrate the relevant movement skills and strategies for confident participation. They are to strive to achieve their personal best at all times and provide a supportive environment for others to do the same.
Students that excel have to opportunity to take on leadership roles within the class in regards to conducting warm up sessions, taking on a captain/coaching role and umpiring. Students are also selected to help out in the community with these developed roles also.
EACS also has a range of Interschool sporting opportunities, where we select a team to represent the school. These include Athletics and Swimming in Albany, Football and Cricket in Kalgoorlie and Esperance. Plus the annual Country Week games in Perth.
We also instill the value of participation and belonging in all out inter house sporting carnivals, which is many! It is expected and encouraged that all students participate and support their fellow peers in striving for their personal best and ensuring that the environment in which we learn and play is safe, supportive, friendly and enjoyable!
In regards to the Health component at EACS students are taught and guided to make informed and responsible decisions about their health and physical well-being about themselves and others.
